    4140 is one of the chromium, molybdenum, manganese low alloy steels noted for toughness, good torsional strength and good fatigue strength.

4140 is generally pre-hardened and tempered and can be further surface hardened by flame or induction hardening and nitriding.



4140 is used in most industry sectors in a varity of applications as:

AISI 4140 Chrome - Moly High Tensile
Steel, offers a very good balance of strength,
toughness and wear-resistance with generally hardened and tempered properly with a tensile strength of around 850-1000 MPa.
